Why this studio

One workspace to design, populate and print labels

Custom QR codes

Set code colours, choose a transparent background, and adjust quiet zones and error correction. Export vector SVG or PDF, or transparent PNG and WebP.

Validated barcodes

EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, Code 128, Code 39 and ITF-14 with live check-digit validation, so a mistyped retail code is caught before it prints.

Batch Excel / CSV import

Import a spreadsheet or use the ready-made template, map your columns, and generate a full sheet of labels in one pass.

Print-ready label sheets

A4, A5, Letter, Legal and Avery presets with margins and bleed, exported as print-ready PDF or printed straight from the browser.

PDF, SVG & PNG export

Single codes export as crisp SVG or PNG; sheets export as PDF, PNG, JPG or SVG for print shops and design tools.

Private by design

Everything is generated locally in your browser. Codes, spreadsheets and designs are never uploaded to a server.

How to create a barcode or QR label

  1. Choose the label size. Start with thermal stock, a label sheet or custom dimensions. Set the margins for your printer.
  2. Add your content. Insert a barcode or QR code, then add text and images. Enter a value directly or import Excel/CSV data for a batch.
  3. Set the background. Select the code and use Transparent background beside its colour control to show the label underneath. For an entirely transparent export, enable the transparent background option in the Print tab.
  4. Preview and export. Check the data and layout, then export PDF, SVG, PNG or WebP. Use JPG for a solid background. Test a printed label with your scanner before a full run.

Save your editable .label.json project to keep its design, imported data and print settings for later.

FAQ

QR & barcode generator questions, answered

Is the label designer free?

Yes. Designing labels, adding barcodes or QR codes and exporting print-ready sheets are all free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limits imposed by a server.

Are my codes or data uploaded anywhere?

No. Every QR code, barcode and label sheet is generated locally in your browser. Your data, spreadsheets and designs never leave your device.

Which barcode types are supported?

The designer supports EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A/UPC-E, Code 128 with A/B/C variants, Code 39, Code 93 with full ASCII, ITF/ITF-14, MSI checksum variants, Pharmacode and Codabar. Matrix formats include QR, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec, with GS1-128, GS1 DataMatrix and GS1 QR also available. Values are checked by the encoder, with live EAN/UPC check-digit feedback and validation of every output label.

Can I generate barcodes in bulk from Excel or CSV?

Yes. Import an .xlsx or .csv file (or download the ready-made template), map your columns, and generate a full print-ready sheet of labels in one go.

What export formats are available?

Single codes export as PNG or SVG. Label sheets export as print-ready PDF (including Avery layouts), PNG, JPG or SVG, or can be printed directly from the browser.

Can I export barcodes and QR codes with a transparent background?

Yes. Select the code and enable Transparent background beside its Background colour. For a transparent label export, also enable Transparent background in the Print tab and choose PNG, WebP or SVG. JPG uses a solid background, and printed labels use the colour of your paper.

Can I auto-number labels with serial numbers?

Yes. The Serialization wizard generates a run of sequential codes from a prefix, start number, increment, padding and suffix, then binds them to any text or barcode with the serial field — no spreadsheet required.
